  • 20.09.1953: Born in Northern Germany

  • 1975-79: - Study of Visual Communication in Wuppertal
  • 1982-84: - Art designer in advertising agency in New York
  • 1985: Starts own agency for industrial design
  • 1986 in London: First contacts with the new fetish scene (Ectomorph, Skin Two)
  • 1987-89: Publishes 7 issues of the “German Skin Two”. The magazine was so successful, that the agency was given up
  • 1989-94: Under the new name <O> , the magazine now comes out in two languages (German and English). 23 issues were produced, the print run going up to 50,000 copies
  • 1989 and 1990: The two BALL BIZARRE parties were the biggest fetish events at the time. In Germany, there was no organised fetish scene then, and even in London, parties were still relatively small. The BALL BIZARRE opened the flood gates...
  • 1994: MARQUIS was born, after the old company and magazine had been lost. It is the most successful fetish magazine today, and the only one published in three languages (German, English, Russian)
  • 1997: Publication of two new magazines. TERMINATRIX is a bizarre comic and art magazine, while HEAVYRUBBER was created for advanced and dedicated rubberists. The latter has become almost as successful as MARQUIS, while the other has remained a labour of love
  • 1996: First photo book BIZARRE BEAUTY (ISBN 3-934237-05-3)
    2000: The ART BIZARRE is the biggest celebration of fetish glamour ever. More than 3,000 visitors come to see bizarre fashion shows and exhibits of fetish art
  • 2004: First comprehensive solo exhibition at the Hamburg Erotic Art Museum
  • 2004: Publication of second photo book MEGADOLLS (Edition Reuss)
  • 2006: In Fall: New book “101 FETISHES” (Hylas Publishing, New York)

Next to being publisher and editor, Czernich writes stories and articles, and directs all art production (photography, filming, graphics, comics) at MARQUIS. Czernich has designed fetish fashion collections, and created stage outfits for performances like „Terminatrix“ (1993), and writes and directs his own line of fetish films (more than 50 today).

Above all, he is one of the the most productive and influential fetish photographers, who has worked with more than 300 models, among them all the fetish scene celebrities, and has some 300,000 images in his archive today (2006).
